Interim Environmental Topic Methodologies
A huge leap forward in impact accounting, coming in early October
To supplement the release of the GHG Emissions and Water Consumption Topic Methodologies, IFVI is releasing four interim topic methodologies covering most significant environmental impacts, 130+ different types of pollutants, tailored for the unique contexts of 200+ countries/regions.
Introduction
Since April, IFVI has been accelerating its work to release value factors and their underlying methodologies spanning six environmental categories: Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Water Consumption, Land Use, Air Pollution, Waste, and Water Pollution. Significant progress has been made towards the development of a globally applicable impact accounting methodology for the public good.
To drive adoption of impact accounting and meet market needs as soon as possible, IFVI will be releasing four of its environmental models as interim methodologies in early October, prior to completing its official VTPC Review and Due Process. This will enable it to obtain valuable feedback on this important step in driving improved transparency and standardization in impact valuation and pave the way for an effective impact accounting system.
